League Rules
2012 League Rules - Will not change for 2014
- $50 entry Fee
- Picks need to be submitted by 6:00 PM on Thursdays either via e-mail to racingpicks@hotmail.com. Normally I do not post until Friday AM, but I like to have them in early.
- Guidelines for Pick Selection
- Your 3 picks must be selected based on the NASCAR season standings at the conclusion of the prior week's race. Let's assume
that the Sprint Cup Series has 65 drivers that earn points at some time during the season. You may pick one driver
whose place in the standings is 1-65; you may pick one driver whose place in the standings is 11-65; and you may pick one
driver whose place in the standings is 21-65. Basically--you can pick one driver from the top 10 in points,
one driver from 11-20 in points, and one driver from 21st place to the end.
- When submitting your 3 drivers, place them in the order that you expect them to finish. This will be used as the
first tie breaker.
- If your selections do not conform to the point standings, you will be penalized by receiving a disqualification of the
driver that is lower in your picks. For example, if you picked 1) Jeff Gordon (5th in points) 2) Carl Edwards (12th
in points) 3)Clint Bowyer (11th in points), therefore, your will get points for Gordon and Edwards. The reason Clint Bowyer was
thrown out is because you predicted Edwards to finish ahead of Bowyer. You will get to keep the pick that you predicted
to have a higher finish. If you have any questions on how I posted results for a given week, feel free to send me a
e-mail. I have been known to make a few mistakes.
- If you fail to submit your picks any week, we will automatically carry forward your picks from the previous week.
If your picks conform to the rules, you will earn points accordingly. If your picks do not conform to the rules, you
will get one or more DQ's as described above. You can earn points for that week, but you will not qualify for any winnings
that week.
- In addition to your 3 picks each week, you will also need to pick who you think will sit on the pole for that
race. (Starting after Daytona!!!) This will be used for 2 purposes. It will serve as the second tie breaker
and it will also work towards our Pole Position Award. The Pole Position Award will be given to the top three people
who pick the most Poles during the season. You can only pick a driver 5 times during the season for the
Pole Position. I will add a page to the website which will list how many times you have picked a particular driver.
Pole Update: Since we had many races with qualifing cancelled in 2008 and 2009, during the
2010 season, we will not count poles if the lineup is decided by points. In the event of a tie, we will take the finishing
position of the pole drivers to break a tie.
- Payout:
- Weekly Payout will pay back to the top 3 each week.
- Once again, we will pay back the top 5 at the end of each half, and the top 10 overall will also win some
money. These amounts will be determined by the # of participants.
